Billing Aquadrome – Friday 18th to Sunday 20th August 2017

The 2017 Northampton Balloon Festival will be the 28th event and one that we hope will be a spectacular sight in the skies over Northamptonshire.

Whilst ballooning is a weather dependant activity the balloonists want to fly, so if the conditions allow, the balloons will be flying at both 6am and 6pm on each of the three days of the event.

At 9.00pm on Saturday evening, we will also be having a “Balloon Glow”. Come and watch the balloons turn into giant lanterns tethered to the ground, pulsating to the music – its magical!

Have a look around our website to see what’s going on and to keep up to date with all the activities.

Day 2 : Saturday PM No Flying but Glow Goes Ahead

Unfortunately, due to the high winds on Saturday evening it wasn’t possible for balloons to fly on Saturday evening.

Saturday night did see some ballooning activity in the launch field, with the winds still too strong to inflate the balloons, the pilots set up their baskets to create a ‘Wall of Fire’ and lit their burners in time with the music.
